The Armed Man: Music of Special Military

Operations & Peace

10 & 11 December 2022, The Theatre Practice

Тhe late Mediaeval popular song L’homme armé (The Armed Man) resonated with audiences faced with the wars of conquest between European states, wars of religion between Catholics and Protestants, and the constant threat of Ottoman invasions. Music calling for and celebrating peace has also been a strong motif running in parallel.

This presentation was supported by a grant from the National Arts Council Tote Board Arts Fund.
